課堂經歷
In this fun, interactive class, we look at adverts and discuss them in detail. We talk about the language used, how they aim to persuade us to buy their products, we find errors and write our own advertising messages, and we identify words most suited to different people such as older people, young children, teenagers or professionals. Each class will have a different advert and the students have the opportunity to share what they like and dislike about the adverts, edit the messages and create their own. - in this lesson, we use a restaurant advert to identify different language for different people - a shoe advert brings to life persuasive language - adverts for phones show how communications can be easy, attractive, social and timely (EAST) - we look at a new smoothie brand advert and the language it used to increase sales - a theme park advert leads us to discuss modern active language and where adverts are placed.
學習目標
Students will gain confidence in concise use of the English language, they will also learn how to tailor language to different audiences, and have fun finding and fixing errors.

Hello. My teaching focuses on writing, structures, persuasive language, reading, writing, conciseness, pronunciation, audience tailoring, listening, grammar, spelling and sentence construction. These are useful skills for all subjects and also help students to articulate their points well in exams.
I also offer skills for future careers which require good communications. Communications can be a career in itself such as journalism, media, Public Relations (PR), advertising, etc., but good communication skills is essential and a strong advantage in almost all future careers students might be considering.
I am a professional corporate communicator myself, a tutor and a trainer, I love the industry, it allows for creativity, innovation and testing new ideas; it's also fast paced and never boring.
Style-wise, I take time to listen to students, embed understanding by showcasing the topics in real life examples such as adverts, brands, campaigns and articles, with plenty of visuals. We look at good and poor communications, and edit and create our own.
