In this introduction to sign language class, your child will learn the alphabet in American Sign Language. Children learn best through fun and play, I utilize songs/games to help expose learners to ASL. Through this class your child will learn how to sign the alphabet as well as learn some extra signs along the way. This is an interactive class in which learners will play games that utilize signs as they learn the alphabet together.

Note: This class is for learners who have a solid grasp of the alphabet/reading/spelling for the developmental level of 6-7yr olds, learners who have not yet mastered these skills will likely find this class more challenging and may not enjoy the experience. For learners who are not familiar with the alphabet, I would recommend my 1-on-1 Let’s Sign the Alphabet Together: Private Introductory ASL class instead. 

I will open each class with fun icebreaker that gives the learners a chance to get to know each other and interact with each other. Learners will then learn a song that incorporates movement and signs. Afterward the learners will explicitly be taught the alphabet signs and play a game that allows them to practice the alphabet signs the are learning in the days lesson as well as review signs learned in previous lessons. 
This interactive class is a great way to introduce your learners to sign and help them develop a love for ASL.

Day 1: ABC
Day 2: DEF
Day 3: GHI
Day 4: JKL
Day 5: MNO
Day 6: PQR
Day 7: STU 
Day 8: VWX
Day 9: YZ 
Day 10: General review during which we’ll play fingerspelling games that help learners practice their receptive fingerspelling skills as we review all the letters of the alphabet together.

While this is scheduled for thirty minutes, this class is based heavily on learner participation; end time may vary depending on the number of learners in the class and their participation level.
