In this ongoing book club, learners will read and discuss a Roald Dahl book each week developing their comprehension, vocabulary, spelling and more! Discover the adventures of James, the Enormous Crocodile and others together! ESL friendly. Week of 29/7/24 - Magic Finger Week of 5/8/24 - Danny, Champion of the World Week of 12/8/24 - Matilda Week of 19/8/24 - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Week of 26/8/24 - The Witches Week of 2/9/24 - The Twits Week of 9/9/24 - Fantastic Mr Fox Week of 16/9/24 - James and the Giant Peach Week of 23/9/24 - Esio Trot Week of 30/9/24 - The BFG Week of 7/10/24 - George’s Marvellous Medicine Week of 14/10/24 - The Giraffe Week of 21/10/24 - Boy Learners can join the class at any point. This is an ongoing course so each class stands alone. We focus on a different theme from the books each week whilst developing comprehension skills, grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing. Learners can join the class no matter how much of the series they have read. Each week will include a range of teaching activities including reading out loud, videos, discussions, activity sheets, Q+A, slides and more. Please note, this is an English language class. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own teaching materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.

Learners will need a notebook, pencil and crayons for each class.
The books are required for this class. Students may use e-books, hardcopy and paperbacks, or audiobooks to read and comprehend the text.
