Your learner will gain confidence in reading with this encouraging class!  In this private 1:1 class, learners will practice their reading, comprehension, phonics, and vocabulary skills.

Upon enrollment, I will contact you about the learning goals for your learner.  Class content will be chosen based on your learner's reading level, interests, and goals.  The class can be adjusted each week to fit your learner's needs.  Books and short stories will be provided.  Please let me know if there is a book your learner would prefer and I will do my best to accommodate your request.  I do not have a formal assessment to determine your learner's reading level.

As your learner reads, I will gently offer guidance, encouragement, and corrections as needed.  We will stop and discuss for reading comprehension.  If there are certain sounds or letters that need more practice, I can provide extra focus and worksheets for that within the class time too.

Learner Reading Requirements:
-Learners should know basic letter sounds.
-Learners should be ready to put letter sounds together to form CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant).

Weekly Schedule:
-The learner will progress through a book or other provided reading material in each class.
-We will practice reading comprehension as we read by discussing the book or reading material.
-We can discuss vocabulary, practice phonics blends, or other areas of focus as requested or needed.

Teaching Style:
I am a very patient and encouraging teacher.
I adjust my teaching techniques to fit each learner.  
Props or other visuals will be used when needed.
Errors are corrected in a positive way.
