In this ongoing math class students will learn all about basic division for beginners. This class will cover division concepts, the terms dividend, divisor and quotient. How division relates to multiplication, fact families with division and multiplication, different ways to write a division problem and more. Students will learn the concepts and practice solving simple division problems including some division word problems. This class will be taught in a warm and friendly discussion setting in which the students will have opportunity to interact, discuss, practice and solve the math problems together as a class. Students do not need to know division to take this class but should know their multiplication facts to 12. Week starting Aug. 1st ~ Repeated subtraction Week starting Aug. 8th ~ Equal groups in division Week starting Aug. 15th ~ Finding the quotient Week starting Aug. 25th ~ Division terms and strategies

Students will continue their journey with math concepts by learning and practicing simple division.

Hello! I’m Teacher Sheila.
I’ve been teaching both children and adults for over 20 years.
I have a Bachelors Degree in education, I’m TESOL certified and I’m homeschool certified as well.
I am currently teaching English online to children in China. I also offer classes in Common Core subjects Online in the US as well.
I have home schooled all five of my children, 4 have graduated 12th grade and I’m currently working with my last kid who will be starting High School this year.
I am so very passionate about teaching that I even spend much of my free time in volunteer work teaching others. My goal is to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning.
In fact I believe in learning so much that I am always involved continuing education myself, whether it be in foreign language, improving my teaching techniques and even weekly public speaking classes.
I believe I have a LOT to bring to the classroom and I’m EXCITED to begin on this journey in learning with you! I hope to see YOU in my classroom soon!
