In this class, young artists will be introduced to the idea of the still life. The still life is a classic way of creating art. In this class, the goal is to take a look at the still life provided, and draw or paint it in their own style. Then, at the end of class, students will be able to present what they've made should they choose to! This one-time class is highly repeatable, as the still life will change with each section offered. Students will learn about still life art, and apply their own artistic skills to the still life provided. In turn, this will help them to find their style or voice.
Art is a lifelong passion, and my journey with art started in middle school. I have worked in many different media, but my favorites are sketching, drawing, and photography. I’ve been keeping sketchbooks for nearly 20 years, and they’ve helped me document my journey with art, as well as important milestones in my life. I want to help learners find their artistic passion and help them do the same.
Students are encouraged to bring the art supplies that the enjoy working with the most, including (but not limited to): - Pens - Pencils - Markers - Paints - Charcoal - Pastels
