As the son of a man who worked directly on the construction of the Lunar Module, the space program still holds excitement and amazement to me, and I plan to bring that excitement to your children. This course will be sectioned into six specific sections as follows : Day 1 - Introduction - Sputnik, Soviet early rocket design, the first man in space, early American rocket design, The start of the Mercury Program, Alan Shepard Day 2 - Mercury Continued - Focus on Virgil Grissom and John...
Following the completion of this course, students will be able to distinguish and state the major differences between the three space programs, Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo. Students will also be able to identify and state specifics about the spacecraft used in the three programs.

Following each class, a list of suggested videos on YouTube showing archived historical footage such as launches, moonwalks, spacewalks, etc. will be distributed on the classroom message board. These videos have been screened for appropriate language and visuals. No account is necessary.
