課堂經歷
This is an English Reading Book Club for students who are developing their love of reading, writing, thinking and sharing their ideas. This class is aimed at beginner readers to broaden their vocabulary, improve recognition of words, develop phonics and handwriting too. Learners will develop their reading fluency, comprehension skills including knowledge of phonics, vocabulary, guessing meaning of words from context, sharing ideas and developing communication skills. Week Beginning 9/09/2024 - The Lonely Monster Week Beginning 16/09/2024 - The Mouse and the Elephant Week Beginning 23/09/2024 - Push Week Beginning 30/09/2024 - Good Old Mum Week Beginning 7/10/2024 - Tiger's Family Week Beginning 14/10/2024 - Top Dog Week Beginning 21/10/2024 - Where Is Baby? Week Beginning 28/10/2024 - Big Feet Week Beginning 4/11/2024 - Is Dad In Here? Week Beginning 11/11/2024 - Ducks Week Beginning 18/11/2024 - Too Hot Week Beginning 25/11/2024 - What a Mess Week Beginning 2/12/2024 - Lemon Week Beginning 9/12/2024 - The Haircut Week Beginning 16/12/2024 - Floppy Did This! Week Beginning 23/12/2024 - Little Red Hen Week Beginning 30/12/2024 - The Hedgehog Week Beginning 6/1/2025 - The Library Week Beginning 13/1/2025 - The Lost Teddy Week Beginning 20/1/2025 - Cats Week Beginning 27/1/2025 - Tools and Animals Week Beginning 3/2/2025 - The Big Box Week Beginning 10/2/2025 - Animal Tracks Week Beginning 17/2/2025 - Can You See Me? Learners will be encouraged to move to Level 2 after completing these books. Please note this course starts with Level 1 and then move to Level 1+ books. We will return to the beginning and repeat these books when we have completed all of them. Each week will include vocabulary, comprehension and input. Learners will be encouraged to share their ideas in a variety of ways in class. Please note, this is an English language class. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own teaching materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.

Learners will need a notebook, pencil and crayons for each class. The books are required for this class. Students may use e-books, hardcopy and paperbacks, or audiobooks to read and comprehend the text.
