課堂經歷
This is an English Reading Book Club for students who are developing their love of reading, writing, thinking and sharing their ideas. This class is aimed at beginner readers to broaden their vocabulary, improve recognition of words, develop phonics and handwriting too. Learners will develop their reading fluency, comprehension skills including knowledge of phonics, vocabulary, guessing meaning of words from context, sharing ideas and developing communication skills. Which books will be covered? Week Beginning 24/2/25 - Under Our Feet Week Beginning 3/3/25 - Tin Can Tracks Week Beginning 10/3/25 - Cat Chase Week Beginning 17/3/25 - Splash! Week Beginning 24/3/25 - The Lonely Monster Week Beginning 31/3/25 - The Mouse and the Elephant Week Beginning 7/4/25 - Push Week Beginning 14/4/25 - Good Old Mum Week Beginning 21/4/2025 - Tiger's Family Week Beginning 28/4/2025 - Top Dog Week Beginning 5/5/2025 - Where Is Baby? Week Beginning 12/5/2025 - Big Feet Week Beginning 19/5/2025 - Is Dad In Here? Week Beginning 7/7/2025 - Little Red Hen Week Beginning 14/7/2025 - The Hedgehog Learners will be encouraged to move to Level 2 after completing these books. Please note this course starts with Level 1 and then move to Level 1+ books. We will return to the beginning and repeat these books when we have completed all of them. Each week will include vocabulary, comprehension and input. Learners will be encouraged to share their ideas in a variety of ways in class. Please note, this is an English language class. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own teaching materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.

Learners will need a notebook, pencil and crayons for each class. The books are required for this class. Students may use e-books, hardcopy and paperbacks, or audiobooks to read and comprehend the text.
