Hello and Welcome to ESL Circle Time!

This class is specifically designed to teach English in a group format to include the social aspect, but a small group so that the teacher can give individual, specialized instruction.  

Join as you please and if you have schedule conflicts feel free to leave and come back as needed.  Your child will get the practice and learning they need even if they miss a class or 2. :-)

Every class will start with a song!  Songs are a wonderful way to memorize words and learn pronunciation.  Songs will include but not be limited to - ABC's, Itsy bitsy spider, row, row, row your boat, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and more.

First we will talk about the day's theme.  Students will be encouraged to bring something to class that aligns with the theme.  Themes will be things such as - animals, the weather, sports/outdoors, food/drink, the 5 senses, clothing, and more.  The teacher will post in the classroom what the students are encouraged to bring before the class begins.  Each student will have a turn to show what they brought to the class with help and encouragement from the teacher and peers.

We will then review our letter of the day, starting with A.  We will write the letter in uppercase and lowercase We will review at least 5 words that begin with the letter, with the teacher showing pictures of the things as well as spelling of the word.  Full sentences will be encouraged such as "This is an alligator,"  "This is an airplane."

Next is the color of the day starting with red.  Students will be encouraged to find something around their house that is that color to show the class.  We will talk about things that are that specific color, with the teacher showing pictures.  Full sentences will always be encouraged, such as "The apple is red,"  "The fire truck is red."

Next we will talk about a shape - shapes will include but not be limited to circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond, star, heart, and more.  Students will draw their shape and be encouraged to find things around their house to show the class to demonstrate that shape.  Full sentences again will be encouraged such as "This is a circle," or "I found a circle."
