Let's Get Ready for Fifth Grade! Summer Review & Prep Camp 🥳

In this on-going, once-a-week class, we will review all fourth-grade math, grammar, and writing skills in a fun summer camp atmosphere. 

WHAT MAKES OUR REVIEW CLASSES DIFFERENT:

1. We use the SPIRAL APPROACH TO AVOID LEARNING LOSS as much as possible. 

2. Taught by CERTIFIED TEACHER WITH CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE!  

3. We have FUN!!! Games, Games, and more Games!! New, fun, and different! 


CLASS STRUCTURE:
⏰  Classes will be run more like a summer camp than a classroom. 
⏰  We will start each class with a grammar review game and a math review game. 
⏰  We will review most third grade skills more than once. 
⏰  Keep learning fun!


CLASS EXPECTATIONS:
🎯 Students should be kind and courteous to one another. 
🎯 Students should be supportive and encouraging. 
🎯 Fun, laughter, and energy are always wanted and encouraged, but they should remain focused on our class content.

📚 FOURTH Grade Skills reviewed:

💥 Grammar: 
Nouns (including singular, plural, common, possessive, and proper), 
Verbs (including action, helping, linking, main, agreement, and tenses), 
Adjectives, adverbs, 
Prepositions, 
Commas, 
Titles, abbreviations, 
Dialogue, 
Conjunctions and subordinating conjunctions, 
Capitalization, and punctuation of sentences.

💥 Math:
Place value: to 1,000,000, round and compare numbers,  
Add and subtract up to seven digits, 
Measurement: customary & metric- length, mass, and conversions
Graphing: bar graphs, picture graphs, line plots, steam & leaf
Geometry: basic 2D and 3D shapes, triangles, quadrilaterals, angles, perimeter, 
area; angles
Fractions: mixed numbers, improper, convert; add & subtract fractions, multiply fractions, Simplify, comparing fractions with unlike numerators or denominators, 
Decimals: place value, fractions to decimals, and conversion
Multiplication: 1 digit up to 5 digit; multiples of 10; 2 digits by 2 digits; factors, multiples, Prime & composite
Division: divisibility rule; distributive property; 2 & 3 digit by 1 digit

💥 Sentence writing: types of sentences, subject and predicate included, adding details, capital to start, ending punctuation, avoiding run-ons or fragments. Paragraph writing


Prerequisites:
✅ Students should have completed fourth-grade coursework.

Weekly packets are posted each Sunday. These are optional packets intended for independent practice.
