In this lesson the students will learn how to find the perimeter and area of polygons. This class is good for students that are in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. The students in this class should know the basic multiplication facts in order to be successful. The class will begin with a review of the multiplication facts. Each student will be given an opportunity to answer a basic multiplication problem. Next the terms perimeter and area will be discussed and defined. Then using the Zoom whiteboard I will demonstrate how to calculate the perimeter and area of polygons using the I do, we do, you do strategy. The students will then be given many opportunities to demonstrate understanding of the skill by completing additional problems on the whiteboard. Students will also enter answers to the problems in the chat box for me to check.
