💗 I adore helping young learners develop a love for writing by making writing lessons fun and engaging. We do a lot of creative writing, to begin, as this tends to be the most fun way to connect writing with what comes naturally to children--storytelling! In this particular class, I will bring a variety of unicorn, fairy, mermaid, and princess toys to class, and your learner will get to pick one or two per class to use as our inspiration for our story that day! For beginning writers, we might simply write sentences that describe the toy, such as "The mermaid has a green fin." For more advanced writers, we will create a story with the toy of their choice as the main character! Learners are also welcome to bring their own toys to class

-How to write a complete sentence
-How to add details to a sentence, making it more robust
-How to write a story with a beginning, middle, and end
-Describing a character in a story
-How to describe the setting of a story

🎓 I graduated from Texas Woman's University, with a honors, with a Bachelor or Arts degree in English. I then went on to obtain several different teaching certifications: Early Childhood Through 4th Grade (EC-4), English 6-8 (Grades 6-8), and English as a Second Language (ESL). Long story short, this means I have the qualifications to professionally teach all subjects at the elementary level and English Language Arts at the middle school level.
