PRE-REQUISITE: Learners must take Learn to Read - Level 2 first and have Teach Calliope's approval prior to enrolling in this class. ============================================ In this ongoing 3 day a week class, students reading at 2nd and 3rd-grade levels will work toward the ultimate goal of becoming proficient readers who can comprehend, analyze and discuss what they have read. Students will improve their spelling and vocabulary each week. Students will also improve their reading fluency skills so that they are reading at an appropriate speed with good pronunciation and proper intonation. Students will learn to write sentences/paragraphs to show their comprehension and analyze what they have read. Additionally, students will use their writing and oral skills to discuss their opinions and extended knowledge of the subject matter.
