This Ongoing Phonics Club will be $11.00 per week per learner.
On June 15, the price will increase back to $13.00 per week per learner.

In Ms. Kim’s reading phonics class for kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades, we will learn about 10-15 phonics skills through chants and/or hand clapping and use of a graphic organizer. 

There are 3 activities in the classes. 
-First, going over the phonics skill (using anchor charts and/or chants)
-Practice sounding out and blending words. Then read a sentence. 
-Using 3 steps to spell a word and then read a sentence. 
For the remainder of class time, we will play games to reinforce the phonics skill and reading. 

Join for one, for two, or all our phonics sessions! 
This class is great for homeschool or after school.

These classes are an engaging supplement for homeschool or after school. 
I'll be using an Orton-Gillingham approach that was developed for children with dyslexia but would benefit any learner.

Learning Goals

-Students will learn about 14 phonics skills.
-Through chants or songs, students will learn the phonics skill sound.
-Using graphic organizers and finger tapping, students will learn how to decode and blend phonics skills.
-Students will learn about vowel markings (breve/macron).
-Students will look for syllable patterns in words. 
-Students will practice reading simple sentences and spelling.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
The lessons will be created on Google Jamboard and/or Google Slides in which I will share my screen with the learners. The learners won't need an account to engage in the lessons.
Pre-Requisites
The learners should have fluency in: -recognizing letters and their sounds -vowel letters -consonants vs vowels -concept of short and long vowel sounds -basic sight words recognition -writing skills
Supply List
*(OPTIONAL) All pdf worksheets and supplies are optional however to maximize the learning environment the learner should have the following supplies:

*An optional pdf file of an activity packet will be uploaded to the classroom every week.
The pdf packet includes:
- Decoding and blending sentence page
-Spelling worksheet -choose the spelling page that would fit your spelling need.

*Other options:
-You can use loose paper/notebook or dry eraser board and markers.
-You can use the annotation on Zoom for spelling part of the class.

*Some optional supply suggestions that you can use are:
-pencils
-crayons/colored pencils
-dry erase board and dry erase markers
