識字！充滿趣味遊戲和故事的語音閱讀課程！

I LOVE teaching children how to read!  I am a certified elementary school teacher with many years of experience of teaching kindergarten in a public school system.  For the past few years, I have been enjoying teaching children how to read here on Outschool!

This is a phonics based reading class that aligns with the Science of Reading.  The reading skills that I will teach in this class will help build a solid foundation that learners will be able to use to read longer words in the future.

The class will include the following:

1.  a "would you rather" question as an introduction and way to get to know each other

2.  reading instruction - I will teach a simple and effective way to sound out words and blend the sounds together.

3.  reading practice & "Who has it?" game - learners will take turns sounding out/reading words while playing a fun and interactive game.  If possible, please the attached sheet so your child can play along with the game.

4.  reading a story together!  Each learner will have the opportunity to read a page in a short story about an animal!  I will provide support and guidance as needed.

If you are planning to take the other vowel sound classes as well, you may want to print one of the attached record sheets for your child to track their progress as they learn to read with all the different vowel sounds.  There are 2 different record sheets to choose from:  a space theme or an animal theme.
