This class is designed to provide explicit instruction of the silent e phonics pattern through interactive activities and voluntary participation. Beginning readers in kindergarten and grade 1 who show mastery of short vowel words such as 'hat', 'tap', and 'sad', but need additional support on how to read long A silent e words correctly and fluently in text like 'make', 'tape', and 'date' will benefit from this class. Order of class: 1. Warm up activity - Short A words flash cards 2. Instruction time - CVCe Long A lesson 3. Review game - Roll & Read Each learner will have the opportunity to participate throughout the class meeting.
