Let's learn to read! Each class will start with a short mini-lesson on segmenting and blending CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. Then, we will play fun interactive games to practice and build confidence!

This class is best for learners who already recognize each letter and its sound. We will build on that knowledge to strengthen phonemic awareness and start reading three-letter words, such as "cat", "bed", etc. 

We will meet for one 25-minute session each week to cover the following skills:

1. Week of May 4-10:                  Short A CVC Words (i.e. cat, bag, map, etc.)
2. Week of May 11-17:                 Short E CVC Words (i.e. bed, pet, pen, etc.)
3. Week of May 18-24:                Short I CVC Words (i.e. sit, rip, fin, etc.)
4. Week of May 25-31:                Short O CVC Words (i.e. mop, hot, log, etc.)
5. Week of June 1-7:                    Short U CVC Words (i.e. hug, run, tug, etc.)
6. Week of June 8-14:                 Mixed - All Short Vowels CVC words
7. Week of June 15-21:                 Mixed - All Short Vowels CVC words
8. Week of June 22-28:               Mixed - All Short Vowels CVC words
9. Week of June 29-July 5:          We will cycle back to Week 1 - Short A CVC Words. You
