Hello! My name is Becca.

I am a mom, a social worker, and a multi-award-winning author (of ‘The Story of Us’). I am passionate about supporting children in our proud heritage language, Cantonese.

Here, you can find my personal and educational background, as well as an overview of my fun classes.

My ultimate goal is to promote fun learning. I keep my classes very small so that full attention can be given to each learner.

I was born and grew up in Hong Kong. I am a native Cantonese speaker.  I was lucky that my recent publication, a Cantonese-English-Jyutping Journal book has won in the Non-Fiction Young Adult category at the Independent Publisher Book (IPPY) Awards and in the Children’s Activity Books category at the National Indie Excellence Awards (NIEA).

I am a mother to my beautiful nine-year-old daughter, and we live in Canada. I know how challenging it is to encourage little ones to speak Cantonese, especially if Cantonese is the minority spoken language where you live. It adds an extra layer of complexity if you are not a native speaker or if only one parent speaks Cantonese.
