每週 1 小時. Students are encouraged to complete work started in class at home and post to the classroom for feedback each week to reinforce new concepts and practise independently.評估
I will address any misconceptions as they arise and assess a student's comprehension and understanding of a skill or knowledge during the learning and teaching process (Assessment for Learning). If completed work is submitted to the classroom I will mark it and provide feedback.評分

In this ongoing maths class, young learners will learn about a new maths concept or topic each week based on the United Kingdom's National Curriculum for Year’s 3 & 4, Lower Key Stage 2 (LKS2) or ages 7-9. US equivalent would be Grades 2 and 3. Each student will learn new skills and various methods for solving the maths problems presented. There are 40 topics altogether in 6 areas of maths: Number & Place Value, Calculations, Fractions, Geometry, Measurement and Statistics (please see to the end of the description below for the full list). Each individual lesson will be highly visual, utilising math equipment such as Base 10, Numicon, link cubes and number lines and where appropriate, real-life examples of measuring tools e.g. thermometer and tape measure. Concepts will be practised by each student using various media like interactive maths visuals, songs, games, activity sheets and Zoom's annotate function. Class size is a maximum of 4 to ensure a fully immersive and highly engaging learning experience. After welcoming all learners to the class, lessons will be begin with an introduction and demonstration of the concept followed by student practise through various media. Learners are encouraged to think of their own answers to questions when they are waiting their turn to be called on (or can put answers in the chat or as paper notes). We will usually finish the lesson by working together to begin the printable/downloadable activity for each topic (generally using annotate on Zoom). If unfinished, the activity may be completed outside of class and submitted to classroom for feedback, if wished. I encourage learners to continue with any unfinished work for them to have independent practise of each concept and consolidate their learning. Learners may join and leave at any time as each lesson stands alone as a self-contained topic/concept and does not build on previous lessons. The full course consists of 40 individual weekly classes presented approximately over the course of a year with 12 weeks holiday/vacation (dates where class does not run are set by myself to fit around family commitments). Suitable for children who have a sound knowledge of foundation level maths having successfully completed Key Stage 1 maths objectives. They should reliably be able to count forwards and backwards within 1-100, add and subtract 2 double-digit numbers and count on or back to find the answer. They should know the column method (or vertical method) for addition and subtraction. They should either know, or be able to calculate the 2, 3, 5 and 10 multiplication tables. They should be able to use everyday language to talk about size, weight, capacity, position, distance, time, and money and be familiar with these concepts. 供應清單
Writing materials Worksheet print-outs for each week (posted on classroom weekly) or a notebook/paper. If you prefer to download class materials, please ensure your learner has access to write/draw on the document digitally (e.g. Zoom's annotate function or on PDF). Small objects to count with e.g. dried pasta shapes, plastic building blocks, cereal pieces or math link cubes. On occasion learners will be asked to bring additional materials to class e.g. modelling clay/dough, scissors and glue stick.
外部資源
學習者無需使用標準 Outschool 工具以外的任何應用程式或網站。
來源
YouTube will be used on occasion for video content and songs. Interactive maths games are usually from Topmarks, ICT Games and Twinkl.
