In this ongoing math class, young learners will learn about a new math concept or topic each week based on the United Kingdom's National Curriculum for KS1 (ages 5-7). Each student will learn new skills and various methods for solving the math problems presented. Each individual lesson will be highly visual utilising math equipment such as Base 10, Numicon, link cubes and number lines. Concepts will be practised by each student using various media like interactive math visuals, games,...
Students will increase their knowledge of six areas of math suitable for their age and ability in Number & Place Value, Measurement, Calculations, Statistics, Fractions and Geometry.
I am a UK qualified primary school teacher with a specialism in mathematics (PGCE with a specialism in Mathematics - Merit) and have been teaching for six years. I am passionate about young children being given the opportunity to explore and have fun with concrete objects to build a strong mathematical foundation.

I will address any misconceptions as they arise and assess a student's comprehension and understanding of a skill or knowledge during the learning and teaching process (Assessment for Learning). If completed work is submitted to the classroom I will mark it and provide feedback.提供的成績
Writing materials Worksheet print-outs for each week (posted on classroom weekly) or a notebook/paper. Small objects to count with e.g. dried pasta shapes, plastic building blocks, cereal pieces or math link cubes. On occasion learners will be asked to bring additional materials to class e.g. modelling clay/dough, scissors and glue stick.
YouTube will be used on occasion for video content and songs. Interactive maths games are usually from Topmarks, ICT Games and Twinkl.
