Studio Ghibli is iconic in the Japanese culture. This class is most suitable for students who are new to the Japanese language and culture.

In this lesson, I will be introducing the movie, "My Neighbor Totoro" to the students. 
I will teach the students some Japanese including:
- the movie title
- vocabulary words and phrases from the movie

As we learn about the language, we will also talk about some of the cultural aspects in the movie. During class, we will come up with creative ways to help everyone remember the vocabulary words (listed in the learning goals section below).

We won't be watching the movie in class. 
If students haven't seen the movie, they are welcome to participate as well and learn some things about the movie before watching it. However, there might be some spoilers in the lesson. 

At the end of the lesson, the slides will be shared with the students so that they can continue to review the content taught. Students are also encouraged to complete the slides for extra practice. I recommend that students put up notecards around the home to help review the words often.
