This class is all about Haikus, a traditional Japanese poem. There will be a mini-lesson on the history of haikus and the structure they have, and then a teacher demonstration of the writing process for a haiku (brainstorming, rough draft, revising, editing, and publishing). Students will then write their own haikus with peer and teacher feedback. We will then publish by writing a neat copy on white paper and adding an illustration.
