In this ongoing class, learners will be introduced to the English language. This class is for complete beginners. Students will attend one class each week. Each week, students will be introduced to one new letter in the alphabet, new vocabulary words, basic English phrases, phonics, one new color, and one new shape. Beginning English language learners will learn new words through hands on activities, discussion, and independent practice. This ongoing class will focus on basic phrases, alphabet letters and sounds, and vocabulary words. Learners will interact with me and other students throughout each lesson as we complete activities together. This class will be very interactive as students will be producing answers during the class! I will also use props, TPR (total physical response), and learning slides on the screen. Your child does not need prior knowledge of the English language. Let’s make learning English as a second language fun and interactive! I hope to see your child in my class. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. My educational experience includes several years as a classroom teacher and several years as an online teacher. Whether in person or online I make learning very engaging so students will enjoy the experience. I know that if I can make learning fun, then the students will grasp the concepts even better!
I will be teaching beginner reading classes. My experience as a classroom teacher and an online teacher has given me the passion to make learning to read enjoyable for students. My goal is for your child to be encouraged, comfortable, and excited about learning in my classroom!
I am married and have three daughters. We love boating, camping, and going to the mountains together. I enjoy painting and have recently started gardening! I enjoy spending lots of quality time with my family.
