Students will learn the origins of modern English words by studying Latin and Greek root words. This class covers the top 100 most used Greek and Latin root words. (25 each week) Students will be able to add prefixes and suffixes to form various vocabulary words. Such as the root word SCRIPT (to write) add pre- and -ion to form the word preSCRIPTion, or P.S. PostSCRIPT meaning after writing and so forth. Homework will consist of several vocabulary words formed from often used root...
By learning one hundred plus of both Latin and Greek root words, each student has the potential to understand at least five words per root word learned, meaning after this course, each student could possibly increase their vocabulary by five hundred words.
Under the pen name of Cleave Bourbon, I have completed and published 6 fantasy novels and I have three more in development (I usually have at least three writing projects going at all times.) I have been teaching English in both public school (English 1-4) and online for over 15 years. I have also earned a B.A in English and Culture and a M.A. in English and Literature.

This class utilizes GIMKIT games to enhance understanding. The game gives the teacher a report that shows a percentage of how each student performed at matching the root words with it's meaning. (It's an exam masquerading as a fun game!)提供的成績
