I have been an English teacher in public, private, parochial, and charter schools for the last 12 years and have been teaching altogether for 23 years in the New Orleans and Metro Atlanta area. I have been English department chair and have guided countless students to master the skill of writing cogent five-paragraph essays. I am a Teacher Consultant with the Greater New Orleans Writing Project and also received training through the Phillips Exeter Academy. Developing a safe space in which my students feel comfortable sharing their writing is important; I strive to create a sense of rapport and trust with my students.
