In this introductory class, students will learn how to do an easy cast on and how to do the knit stitch. The class is set up as a workshop, so students will see a demonstration of how to do the stitches and then will practice the stitches. This class is for the student who would like to try knitting, and is not for students who already knit! Knitting is a fun way to relieve stress in a high tech world, so learning the basic stitch is a fun way to relieve stress. Mrs. Borton is a patient...
Students will learn to cast on and do the knit stitch.
Mrs. Borton is an experienced knitter and has taught hundreds of students to knit during knitting club at her school. Mrs. Borton also designs knitwear for herself and for gifts for others!
Students will need the following: Knitting needles - a 10" length set of needles in bamboo will be the easiest to use. I recommend a size 8 or 9. Yarn - your choice of color! Choose wool, acrylic, or a wool-acrylic blend in size 4 or 5. Scissors - blunt-nose
