幼兒園準備營：綁鞋帶、拉鍊夾克、開午餐物品

Rising kindergarten students need to know more than academics to be successful. We will have fun while learning important readiness skills which reach beyond the alphabet, reading and math. Each day of camp will introduce a new self help readiness skills. Camp participants will learn how to perform each skill and then we will practice together. In addition, learners will be following directions and practicing small motor/eye-hand coordination skills. 

Each day will begin with a welcome song and question of the day. We will then get right to work on the skill for the day. The teacher will demonstrate each skill and use strategies such as modeling, teacher created songs and teacher created rhymes to help learners be successful. 

Day One:
Question:  What is your favorite book?
Learning Objective:  I can zip and button a jacket or sweater.

Day Two:
Question:  Which do you prefer, a cookie or a piece of cake?
Learning Objective:  I can tie my shoes.

Day Three:
Question:  Do you like rain or snow best?
Learning Objective: I can carry a lunch tray and open my lunch/snack items with independence. 

Day Four:  What is your favorite shape?
Learning Objective:  I can pack and unpack my backpack. 

My class is structured as teacher facilitated and hands-on. I will demonstrate the skill then support and encourage learners as they practice. The skills taught in this class are tricky and I will offer encouragement and repetition throughout each class and the week. My style is relaxed and fun.

Learners will engage with me and each other frequently during each class. I will provide time for each learner to show their progress and offer one-on-one help to each learner. I want my students talking, sharing and engaging with me and each other throughout the class.
