Beginning readers must be able to look at letters and manipulate the sounds (phonemes) that each letter makes. The skills acquired in this class will promote and strengthen phonics skills. I am a certified Reading Specialist K-12 with a Masters in Reading Education. My lessons are firmly rooted in the science of reading. I have 15+ years teaching reading in Pre-K through grade 5 in public and private schools. I began teaching reading as Director and Head Teacher of Preschool. I spent several years as a Reading Specialist in a public elementary school working with grades K-5. When I became a military spouse (moving every 2 years), I transitioned to virtual teaching I have been with Outschool since June 2018.
