In this live online Kindergarten math class, learners are equipped with common core math skills plus more. Classes feature an interactive learning environment led by an energetic teacher. A supportive community where kids feel comfortable taking risks and exploring math with confidence is another bonus.  This math club will resemble circle time only in that it will focus on math skills. This class is for students who may need a challenge in the subject of Math. Parents can use this class to assist with introducing skills or supplement learning. The main categories that will be introduced are as follows: counting numbers 1-100, the concept of zero, shapes, sorting, positions, patterns, money, measurement, graphing, addition, subtraction, probability and time. My classes are common core aligned and tiered for higher thinking. Students will have an opportunity to engage in class by greeting one another, answering questions, games and show & tell. Students will have an opportunity to practice concepts in class with weekly provided worksheets and engaging activities. There is lots of movement in class, learning areas need to allow room to move. I believe in full engagement while teaching. While I give instruction and teach targeted concepts, I also provide students a chance to speak, develop listening skills, critical thinking and the space to be comfortable with trying (confidence).
