Whether you have a kinder, soon will or just needing a solid review, this class is perfect for your learner. Week 1: Letters and Sounds Introduce letters of the alphabet and their sounds Use alphabet books or flashcards to teach letters and sounds Teach the concept of uppercase and lowercase letters Provide opportunities for students to practice letter recognition and matching uppercase and lowercase letters Use songs or chants to reinforce letter sounds Lesson will conclude with a fun video and a snippet from our weekly book. Week 2: Sight Words Introduce selected sight words (also found in our weekly book) Teach the meaning and use of sight words in sentences Use sight word flashcards or games to reinforce sight word recognition and spelling Provide opportunities for students to practice reading sight words in simple sentences Week 3: Rhyming Introduce rhyming words and patterns Use nursery rhymes or songs to teach rhyming words Rhyming word games / activities Review weekly book Week 4: Review and Assessment Review all the concepts taught in the previous weeks Provide opportunities for students to practice and reinforce skills Assess students' progress through informal assessments Throughout the four weeks, learning will be fun and engaging by incorporating hands-on activities, songs, and games. I will also provide feedback and encouragement that will help students feel motivated and confident in their early reading journey.

Teacher Monica, here. I have been an elementary teacher for 12 years. My passion is to teach students in a unique way that allows them to enjoy learning. My goal is that every student that enters my classroom, finds a love in their learning journey, whether that be with reading or math, and may be even both! In my most recent teaching years, I have been teaching full time online. These past 4 years of teaching online instead of in person, has taught me different ways to connect and keep students engage virtually in special ways.
