A sample session: 
15 mins: Word Work. I use a variety of activities to strengthen student's phonemic awareness and sound-symbol decoding. Some of these activities include using digital letter tiles to build words and manipulate sounds, reading & writing new words, and sorting words based on spelling (For example, sorting a list of words with the different /oa/ spellings: "grown", "sew", "toe"...etc.) I will choose the activity that will best help the student to improve their ability to decode words. 
15 mins: Guided Reading. At each session, your student will read a new decodable text with me, then take that text home to practice. This text will include sight words and specific sounds that your student is working on. Rereading the same text at home will help your child improve their fluency, automaticity, and gain confidence.
