This is an introductory course specially created for PreK, Kindergarten and 1st grade students.  The subject matter will be adapted to suit their educational and developmental level.  Students will learn through a variety of approaches, such as read aloud stories, informative slides and graphics, drawing, building and sculpting, movement activities, video clips, games, discussion, repetition and more.  Students will learn about a variety of space-related topics--the solar system, stars, the moon, space exploration and more. Math and science concepts are interwoven into lessons.  Vocabulary words such as galaxy, planet names, constellations, star types, meteor, asteroid, rover, robot, moon phases and more will be introduced and used during these interactive, engaging lessons.

The weekly course topics will be:
Week 1 -- Intro to Space Science / Our Galaxy and Planets of our Solar System
Week 2 -- Our Moon
Week 3 -- Stars and Constellations
Week 4 -- Exploring Space
Each week will include: Lesson material presented in slides, a short video clip, a movement activity related to the weekly theme, a read-aloud from a related book, class discussion, 1-2 drawing/building/sculpting activities, and sharing.  Some learning games may also be included.  Students will also have the opportunity to share their optional homework assignment  (from the previous class) with their fellow students.
