課堂經歷
Students will practice displaying sportsmanship and teamwork by working in a small group to solve a mystery just like the famous cartoon character, Scooby- Doo. Students will participate in a slideshow presentation and a mystery themed read- aloud to share examples of teamwork. Then students will have the chance to practice working together while playing a mystery riddle game that asks questions about teamwork and encourages critical thinking about situations where teamwork is needed....
Students will be able to practice problem solving and critical thinking skills. Students will be able to practice working in a team to solve a mystery. Students will be able to use positive communication to solve a mystery.
This course focuses on the topic of working as a team and sportsmanship which are useful across various settings and at all ages. I have had more than 3 years of experience teaching lessons regarding character trait skills such as teamwork as a School Counselor. I have taught these topics using multiple different curriculum programs that align with most state standards for Character Learning or Social Emotional Learning. Previously, I spent time teaching a special education pre- school class where there was a heavy focus on character learning and teamwork.
This course includes a slideshow and a read aloud which contains an images of a cartoon ghost and cartoon snow monster as learns solve the mystery.
We will be referring to the Scooby- Doo franchise and specifically reading Scooby- Doo Snow Ghost by Robin Wasserman.
