Jeopardy! Fun and Challenging Math Competition Problems (Grade 1-2) This on-going class will challenge the little minds with competition problems such as Math Kangaroo and Math Olympiad in a fun and engaging Jeopardy style! Each class we will focus on 2 key skills that are covered in most math competitions, such as Math Kangaroo, Math Olympiad etc. Learners who enjoy solving challenging Math problems and/or want to build their skills for math competition are suitable for this class. The teacher will go through the problems with the learners and provide opportunities to explain their thoughts through discussion. Topics for each month: Week 1: Fun Calculation & Difference Application Week 2: Space imagination & Find the Pattern Week 3: Counting & Number Application Week 4: Age problem & Equivalent Substitution **No classes on Dec 25 and Jan 1**

About our Visible Thinking Math classes:
In our technology-driven society, Mathematics is undoubtedly essential in education because it is the foundation of all sciences and technology. We believe helping children mastering Mathematical skills will build a solid foundation for their future. We aim to inspire children to become innovators and creative problem solvers so that they can pursue their dreams.
Our Methods:
Students are provided with different visual ways of looking at math including the world-renowned Singapore bar modelling approach. The learning journey begins with the concrete and pictorial stages, followed by the abstract stage to enable them to learn mathematics meaningfully. This approach encourages advanced (higher-order) thinking process, communication of mathematical ideas, and problem-solving.
Our teachers:
We're a group of passionate educators who have Mathematics and/or Science related degrees and passed the Mentorhood Teacher Training which specialized in online teaching and the Singapore Bar Modelling method.

**Attendance & Absence Policy**
Planned Absence: Families inform us at least 24 hours before class, the class will be refunded or rescheduled. Teacher will not be paid for that refunded class.
Sick Leave: Families inform us at least 24 hours before class, the class will be refunded or rescheduled. Teacher will not be paid for that refunded class.
If 24 hours in advance is not possible, that sick leave will be taken as an emergency.
Emergency: Families inform us as soon as possible before class, the class will be refunded or rescheduled. Teacher will not be paid for that refunded class.

If your learner has not joined the meeting 10 minutes after the class’s start time, the meeting will be canceled. This is considered a missed meeting and you are not entitled to a refund.
