Students will learn how to make Onigiri (rice ball with savory meat filling).

******We will not use a stove, oven, knives, or other tools needed while cooking in the Parental Guidance Section. Families pay attention to possible allergens such as nuts, wheat, dairy, eggs, or soy. Parents, you know your kids best, so if you see something on the ingredients list that your child is allergic to, then you can always find substitutions.
White Rice or Sushi Rice (MUST BE COOKED BEFORE CLASS)
Seaweed Nori
Mirin- Japanese rice vinegar
Kewpie- which is Japanese mayo or you can use regular mayo
Tuna- we will be using canned tuna, but if you prefer different meat you would like to mix with mayo then that's fine. Here are some meat options: imitation crab, canned chicken, or salmon.
White sugar (1/2 cup)
Salt
Scissors ( cooking scissors or regular scissors with parental supervision) 
Furikake (This is optional, it is a seaweed seasoning)
CHECK FOR ANY FOOD ALLERGIES YOUR CHILDREN MIGHT HAVE!

Scissors will be used to cut the Seaweed Nori, so parents if you are not okay with your child using scissors and want to cut the Seaweed off-camera into four squares that will be fine. Make sure to check the ingredients for any allergies your children might have such as nuts, wheat, dairy, eggs, or soy.
