In this interactive introductory course, students will have fun learning about the The Writing Process, a basic paragraph structure, and building an opinion essay with a topic sentence, supporting reasons/examples, and closure.

This class is a great fit for families who have learners who need support in writing, but don't want a long commitment or big out-of-pocket cost to start. It's also a perfect solution for families who may want to take a writing class, but would like to get to know my teaching style and instructional strategies before making the commitment (although you won't regret it!).

In this class, learners will get to interact with the teacher and each other through discussion, games, slides, Q&A, video clips (and more!) in a safe and engaging environment! In our classroom, fun is a priority and a growth mindset is shared between students and teacher alike. I set clear success criteria and use proven instructional strategies to help move students from good writers to great writers AND from reluctant writers to excited writers! 

In this class, my teaching style is very interactive-- students will be asked to be responsive. Experience or previous knowledge of  writing formats listed is not required, but learners should have basic reading and letter formation skills. Regardless of the learner's fondness for writing (or lack thereof!), at the end of this course they will walk away more confident with tackling that next writing assignment! And, perhaps most importantly, this course will prioritize a love for learning and who knows... maybe even inspire a love of writing, too!
