Through lecture, discussions, and activities, students will learn about the definition of psychology and the definition more specifically of forensic psychology. We will discuss what students believe about forensic psychology and how they learned it. I will provide information on jobs related to forensic psychology, and we will discuss the differences between forensic and criminal psychology. I will provide examples of where a forensic psychologist might work (including prisons, law offices, and the courts). My teaching style is very interactive - I ask questions to see what level of understanding students already have, then help them build on it with lecture and examples.

Students will learn the definition of psychology.
Students will be able to summarize the definition and scope of forensic psychology.
Students will compare forensic psychology with other psychology research areas.
Students will learn about specific jobs that could be done with a forensic psychology degree.
Students will learn about the educational process of becoming a forensic psychologist.

父母的引導和規範
Many students assume forensic psychology relates to behavioral profiling, and there may be discussions or questions relating to prisons, serial offenders, and violent serial behaviors. These are not the content of the course, but they may be brought up due to stereotypes about the field and media depictions of forensic psychology.
