In this introduction I will be building code examples for demonstration. I will tell them about the types of Java applications they can learn to build. First I'll make sure they have installed Java Developer Kit. Next check their code editor. How to bring up the console. How to make a source file. How to compile it and run it. I have studied Software Engineering for 35 years. I've studied Java for the last 20 years. I'm fully prepared to fill a Full Stack Java Developer Role. I have been a manager or trainer in 3 career fields and U.S. Army Reserve. I love teaching or training.
Will need a computer that they can install developer kit, git tool and code editor on. Try to install Java Developer Kit (not JRE but JDK or SDK) and Visual Studio Code(Not MS Visual Studio) VSC is a code editor, MSVS is a full blown IDE for Microsoft programming languages. And install JEdit. Find notepad and console on windows. IDE for Java is Eclipse(free), Netbeans(free) or Intelij Idea (worth the monthly subscription) and Android Studio. I won't cover IDE's in this class except to mention them.
