This class is designed for students with no prior coding experience and is best suited for children who have never used Scratch before. 🧩 Syllabus:
📅 Week 1: Introduction to Scratch
In the first week, students will dive into the basics of Scratch. They will learn how to create sprites, incorporate sounds, make loops, use variables, and much more. By gaining a solid foundation in Scratch, students will set the stage for their coding journey.

📅 Week 2: Create a Pong Game
During this session, students will learn how to make a classic Pong game. They will dive into coding game mechanics, create paddle movements, and implement scoring systems. Get ready to challenge your friends to a virtual Pong match!

📅 Week 3: Pop the Balloons! 🎈📸
Get ready for a high-energy, hands-on game that brings your movements into the action! This week, students will create a balloon-popping game in Scratch using their video cameras and motion sensing. They'll design colorful balloon sprites, program them to float around the screen, and use their fingers and body movements on camera to pop as many balloons as they can. This game combines coding with physical movement for a fun, interactive challenge that’s sure to get everyone up and moving!

📅 Week 4: Dino Run Game
Get ready to dash through the desert in this exciting Dino Run game! Inspired by the classic offline Chrome dinosaur game, students will create a fast-paced side-scrolling game where the dinosaur jumps over cacti and ducks under flying obstacles. They will learn to code gravity, collision detection, score tracking, and endless scrolling backgrounds. How far can your dino run?

📅 Week 5: Navigate the Minecraft Maze
Calling all Minecraft fans! In this week's session, students will embark on a coding adventure to create their very own Minecraft-inspired maze game. They will design intricate mazes, code character movements, and incorporate obstacles. Get ready to explore the virtual labyrinth!

REQUIREMENTS FOR CLASS:

Coding:
1. Students will be required to have a desktop computer or a laptop to take this class in order to code on Scratch 3.0. Students should not be using tablets or iPad's.
2. Students are required to have a keyboard during class, this will help them code.
3. Students may take the class with one device but they will need to have two screens opened at the same time. 
4. Students are required to have an account with Scratch. This will help them save their projects. The website is: https://scratch.mit.edu/

Zoom:
1. It is strongly encouraged to have two devices. One device for Zoom (laptop, desktop computer or tablet) and a second device for coding (no tablets or iPad's). 

Reading:
Students should be able to read the blocks in order to take this course. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to follow the tutorial. Many of the blocks look similar to one another, which can confuse students that are unable to read.
