課堂經歷
Please note this is the flex class. There are NO live meetings for this class. The material will be posted weekly and participation will be done through Outschool & YouTube. You can view the material during the week at your own convenience. OVERVIEW: This is a 4 week project oriented course where students will be guided via detailed pre-recorded video lessons. This course provides: - Weekly video content - Weekly teacher-directed learner to learner interaction. Students will be required to respond and interact by giving advice or suggestions to other students posts depending on the topic for the week. - A weekly challenge depending on the topic for the week.. Feedback on projects and on any questions the students have relating to the topics covered via the message board. WEEKLY LESSON PLAN: Week #1 - Planning Phase - Choosing topics & Video Ideas Summary: This week students will brainstorm and decide what type of video to make, as well as create a script and other necessities for the pre-recording process. Students must post in the classroom their brainstorming methods and approach as well as their result (What they will be filming). Week #2 - Recording Phase - Filming Tips, Tricks and What makes a good YouTube video Summary: Students will learn how to film their subject as well as a few tips and tricks to improve their videos. They will also get a grasp on what makes a good YouTube video. Students must post in the classroom the equipment they intend to use as well as what type of background they will use. Week #3 - Post Production Phase - Editing, Copyright and Free Resources Summary: Students will learn how to edit their videos. From adding music, adding images, cutting clips and more. They will also learn about copyright and where they can find free resources that they can use. Students must post in the classroom what software they will be using and what editing features they are thinking of incorporating to their video. Note: I will be creating two separate videos for this lesson. One video for students who use the iMovie software which is used on Apple devices and a separate video for students who will use DaVinci Resolve for Window devices or Apple devices. (both are free) Week #4 - YouTube Phase - Uploading, Thumbnails and Navigation Summary: Students will learn how to navigate the YouTube environment and how to upload their YouTube videos. They will also learn how to create custom thumbnails on Canva and best practices for them on YouTube. Students must post in the classroom a link to their published video (if they want to) so the class can review it and give any tips if needed.

Students should have either iMovie (Apple) or DaVinci Resolve (Apple and Windows) installed on their computer or device in order to edit videos. You don't need both. Just one of those two.
