In this 1-day class we will explore, discuss, and debate the accelerating developments in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). We will: * cover essential vocabulary * think about the defining characteristics of a robot * analyze a real-world example of an AI-powered robot designed to be every kid's best friend * see evidence that the advancement of robotics and AI is happening faster than many of us realize * enjoy a sneak peek of Peter Brown's The Wild Robot, an award-winning children's novel featuring a fascinating robotic protagonist At the end of this class families will receive a PDF offering exciting ways to take their research even further!

We don’t just read books, we find, analyze, evaluate, and create websites, videos, podcasts. We identify places to visit, people to talk to, questions to ask. In other words, we transform interests into passions.
