課堂經歷

Students will learn the basics of coding utilizing a virtual VEX Robot.  We will cover basic movement of the robot using concepts such as distance, time, and rotations as well as how to control using loops and conditional statements.  Students will learn basic commands as well as structuring more complex commands by combining the concepts covered.  We will complete challenges to try to learn better and be more efficient.  We will use some short lecture followed by collaborative discussion and demonstration to help each other learn and get better.  All programs can be downloaded for future use in the simulator or on their own robot.

I would suggest using the Chrome Browser for the simulator we will use for a robot.
Some people have reported issues trying to get on with iPads.  While this should work, I would recommend a computer (Mac or Windows PC) or a Chromebook as I have fully tested those.

I studied electrical engineering in high school and college.  I have built solar cars, electric cars, and a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle as well as a variety of robotics projects and platforms.  I taught high school engineering for over 10 years and now teach middle school science and engineering.
