Students will learn the basics of card magic. Week 1-Definition of what card magic is. How to spread the cards. The riffle shuffle. Overhand shuffle. Self working card trick. Week 2- How to predict what card a spectator will choose and different ways to use what is called a card force. Week 3- Continuation of the overhand shuffle and tricks using it. Introduction into the glide. A very useful sleight of hand technique. Week 4- Introduction into the double lift and its many many uses....
I have been performing magic for over 20 years. I have spent that entire time practicing and perfecting sleight of hand with cards. I have taught several classes at after school programs, the ymca and boys and girls clubs.
Students will need a deck of cards. My preferred brand is bicycle cards that can be found pretty much anywhere. But any brand will do. Students will also need a duplicate card (For example: 2 Ace of Hearts with the same back. A pair of scissors and scotch tape (clear tape).
