In this weekly math club, learners will choose to practice math from a long list of activities including double and triple digit addition and subtraction, word problems, money and making change, fact families, logic puzzles, multiplication, missing number puzzles, and fractions. Return each week for more practice, stay for just one class or come and go by pausing or adjusting your learner's subscription. We will complete the activities and check the answers together as a class. I will adjust the pace of the lesson according to the students enrolled to help learners feel comfortable and successful. I originally had this class listed as third grade math, but quickly learned that some of the 6 year old math wizards were also able to do the math activities with help and guidance. Here is the schedule for the first 6 weeks. More will be added later. I welcome suggestions if your learner has something specific they would like to practice. Week September 24: Fall Fractions Week 2 October 1: Fall Triple Digit Addition Week 3 October 8: Fall Shopping Week 4 October 15: Scarecrow Multiplication Week 5 October 22: Halloween Patterns Week of October 27: Haunted House Perimeter Week of November 3: Place Value Fall Math Week of November 10: Autumn Find the Value Week of November 17: Fall Word Problems and Equivalent Fractions (by request) Week of November 24: Thanksgiving Find the Value and Equivalent Fractions Week of December 1: Winter Fractions Week of December 8: Winter Rounding more activities will be added soon If a different time or day works for you, please message me and I will see what I can do to add it to my schedule. Hello! My name is Sharon, Teacher Sharon. I am both thankful and excited to have this opportunity to help children from all over the world have fun while learning. I love making learning fun!
I have my Masters of Education (MEd) and over 20 years of experience teaching and learning from children of all ages. I have experience as a nursery school director, a Kid's Club supervisor (twice) and a classroom teacher for Pre-K through high school. I have also taught technology, after-school elementary science classes, cupcake decorating, and brick building.
I am very fortunate to have grown up overseas and have lived all over the world. Some of my many passions include creating fun, educational classes, scuba diving, traveling, science, crafting, my precious dog, cat, fish and snails and of course teaching.
I like to keep class sizes small to help learners engage and participate. If your child is interested in any of my classes that are not currently scheduled, or if a different time or day would work better for you, please feel free to contact me.
Learning in my classroom is engaging, energetic, fun, enjoyable, upbeat and entertaining. "Your child won't want to leave at the end of class and will beg to come back for more." (That's my superhero catch phrase.)
NOTE: I am very flexible with class scheduling. If you are interested in one of my classes, but you don't see it listed on a day or time that you want, please find a class that is already listed when you want the class.
