Are you ready to improve your English language skills?

This class offers an extended lesson time of 45 minutes, one-on-one with the teacher. We will focus on practical words that can be put to use in daily life. The resulting class will be fun, challenging, and interactive! Using visual learning and conversation skills, students will build vocabulary while developing sentence structure and improving pronunciation.  

In each class, students visit the imaginary city of Englishville and learn to express their ideas about everyday places and situations. The timing of each lesson has been extended from 25 minutes to 45 minutes to allow extra time for practicing the learning objectives.

Topics will include:

▪️ A detailed discussion of the rooms 🛋️ and objects in a home.
▪️ Pets 🐶, farm animals 🐷 and zoo animals 🦒
▪️ Vocabulary and phrases related to school 🏫
▪️ How to order food 🍽️ and drinks 🥛 at a restaurant
▪️ Common places, such as a bakery 🧁, a library 📚, and a supermarket 🛒
▪️ Comparing different modes of transportation 🚗
▪️ How to describe what people 👩🏻‍🦱👴🧔🏿👧🏼🧑‍🦰 look like

Students will learn to make connections between their daily life and the things they are learning. Learners will also be practicing reading and writing, learning correct pronunciation, and forming sentences in their own words. 

The lesson plan also includes:

▪️ Explanations of idiomatic expressions
▪️ Sentence structure and grammar
▪️ Differences between British 🇬🇧 and American 🇺🇲 English
▪️ Reading practice
▪️ Pronunciation coaching
▪️ Periodic reviews to check ✅ progress

By enrolling in this course, your child will have two reserved time slots per week, each lasting for 45 minutes. You can cancel the course at any time, or they can complete the 52 lessons of the Englishville course in about six months.

This class is designed for intermediate level students. Each learned should already be familiar with the alphabet and be able to read and say simple words. We will build on this existing knowledge by expanding vocabulary and adding conversation skills. Students will also practice writing, so it will be helpful to have paper and a writing utensil on hand at all times during class.
