Students learn to: -label drawings with words -sound out words to write them -plan and write sentences -use punctuation and spacing to write sentences -spell sight words During each class I will demonstrate the above skills, and students will have time to practice these skills on their own with guidance. Students should be able to label their drawings with letters/words, though don't necessarily need to know how to write sentences yet. They should be able to "listen for the sounds" and...
Students will learn to plan and write sentences. They will draw pictures and label them by sounding out words. They will begin each sentence with a capital letter, put spaces between words, and end each sentence with a punctuation mark.
I love teaching children how to write! I have a master's degree from the School of Education at Northwestern University and a certificate to teach English (CTEFL) as a foreign language from Georgetown University. I was a kindergarten and first grade teacher at an international school, and have been teaching children how to write for more than 15 years.
