The human voice is an incredible instrument. This class will teach the secrets of creating voice over characters. Each learner will get the opportunity to explore the different aspects of voice control to develop a variety of voices. We will practice pitch, cadence, and emotion and other techniques used to control the voice. I start each session with some simple warm ups and then jump into an interactive session of script reading, character development and simple improv scene building. I am an enthusiastic instructor and have been directing improv for 15 years. Your learner will get the opportunity to become comfortable doing voices in a positive environment. Week March 6th: The 9 elements of the voice and how to use them Week March 13th: Emotions and how to utilize them in script reading Week March 20th: Script reading and memorization techniques week March 27th: Putting it all together for auditioning.

Students will learn the different aspects of vocal variety. We will develop several different characters and learn how to use them effectively. Each week we will discover new ways to get the most out of your voice acting skills. Building a foundation to continue creating fun and exciting new voice characters.

My name is Michael Schmitt and I have been performing and teaching improv for over 20 years. I am an Voice Over Actor and love unique and engaging creating characters, plots, locations and script in multiple genres. My classes focus on communication, confidence, team building, character development and most important the benefits of Improv. Each class is highly interactive and engaging. I have given hundreds of presentations and evaluations as a member of Toastmaster International. I also competed in the World Championships of Public Speaking.
