In this class, students of all skill levels will be welcome to practice and improve their skills with colored pencil drawing. With live instruction from a professional illustrator, they will be able to share their work, learn new techniques, and ask questions in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere.

As a learner-directed class, each lesson will be custom-tailored to the interests and skill levels of the students who are participating. Learners will have the opportunity to request specific subjects or themes, and they will be given full creative freedom to utilize the skills I demonstrate with works of art of their own. While many art tutorials restrict students to creating copies of the instructor's artwork, I emphasize that my purpose is to teach them how to draw, not to tell them what to draw.

• Shading techniques and light effects
• Perspective and scale
• Color theory
• Character drawing
• Illustrating action and movement
• Composing a scene
• Mixing media

This is an ongoing class and content doesn't build from week to week, so students may join or take a break from the class at any time without missing out.
