In this self-paced course, students will work step-by-step to create a realistic pencil drawing of a cat's eye. Although some experience with drawing would be great, it is not required, as I will be walking you through every step of this process. This class will briefly discuss drawing paper, pencils, and other tools that can be used to enhance a young artist's skills. 

We will work on proportion, create depth with layering, shading and blending, and hopefully you will have fun while learning it all! Because this is a self-paced course, learners can feel relaxed knowing they can move at their own pace. 

We will begin by sketching out our outline of the cat's eye shape, and then move into blending and shading techniques to start forming the structure of the iris and pupil. We will discuss white space and light sources, as well as how to shade in order to make the eyeball appear rounded. Students are able to work on this drawing in one sitting or take breaks as they feel necessary. All-in-all, I aim for this class to be informational and fun, and to help enhance young artists' skills!

This class is set up in 5 lessons that can be completed in one sitting or the learner can come and go as they need. Each lesson has one-three short videos, all less than 9 minutes long. Along the way, if your child has questions, I encourage you to send a message to me along with a photograph of their drawing so that I can assist them in answering their question(s). When they complete their drawing, I would love to see their final piece! You can request a final critique by me, where I can offer advice on any areas where they had a hard time. I cannot wait for your child to take this course and to see their drawings!
