WATCH OUT! Spikes coming your way!
In this class, your child will learn to draw an adorable hedgehog by directed drawing. While we draw Pickles the Hedgehog, the class will be listening to fun facts about hedgehogs. I want my learners to come away with a picture that they are proud of, a greater knowledge of animals, and a fun-filled memory!
I will be present the whole time. The drawing portion will be teacher-led, while the animal facts and rendering portions will be student-directed.
Learners will be able to interact with me through the “raising hand” feature on Zoom when muted (during the directed drawing portion), out loud during the animal facts and rendering, and through a private chat all throughout the lesson. Interaction with other learners will be allowed and encouraged at specific times throughout the lesson.
Students should be able to:
1. Follow multi-step directions.
2. Hold a pencil firmly.
3. Color independently.

Hi! I’m Ms. Abbey.
I teach kids to love art through animals, travel, and step-by-step instruction.
I truly believe art class is for EVERYONE, not just the natural artist. The scientist, nature-lover, athlete, wanna-be vet, and gamer can all find fun and a sense of accomplishment in art.

I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and have taught in a brick-and-mortar classroom for 4 years. But even after substituting, teaching 3rd grade, teaching Kindergarten, and teaching English in Thailand, being an online art teacher has been my favorite! I now have 3 years of online teaching experience.
I believe children should be guided to be their best self. This means creating extra tasks for gifted students, challenging the average, and reaching out and individually assisting the reluctant learners. I also believe that art is for everyone! Anyone can draw, anyone can create, anyone can imagine.
A fun fact about me is that I live in Bangkok, Thailand! I have also been to 18 countries on 3 different continents.
My husband and I have 2 wonderful little kids. They're the reason I’ve chosen to be an online teacher and stay-at-home mom.
